Churchwarden's Jottings

(September 26, 2016)

Lot's happening this autumn at St Andrew's.

Great Village Quiz
Coming up is the hotly contested village quiz. This is taking place on
Friday 14 October in the Kenn Centre. You should bring your own liquid
refreshment. Don't forget that you can order a yummy Cornish pasty.
It's not too late to enter, ring 01392 832462.

Taize Service
This is on Sunday November 6 at 6pm. Come along and join in some medieval
singing, accompanied by flutes and other musical instruments. Taize
services originated in central France in the 13th century.
Something different, something special.

Christmas Fayre
Coming up in the last week in November, is the Christmas Fayre in the
Kenn Centre, from 10.30am until 1pm on Saturday 26 November. Can we better last year's
fantastic event? The fancy dress theme is pantomime. All donations for
the stalls will be gratefully received. Father Christmas will be there
to welcome the children and collect their letters to Santa.

Toilet Update
Things are at last moving on! Teignbridge, the parish council and the
DAC have all given their approval. We are now waiting for what we hope
will be the last approval from the Chancellor of the Consistory Court.
Five tender responses were received and we have selected a contractor
from this group. The aim is to commence the work in spring 2017
provided that we are able to secure the grant funding from a number of
parties, including our own parish council, that holds the key to
helping us obtain the 10% figure we have to have in order to secure
other funding.

Did you know that details of all of the church services and events can
be found on the notice boards located around the parish and at the post
office so that you can keep up to date with what is happening and when.
