CHURCHWARDEN'S JOTTINGS
(November 13, 2016)It's Show Time at St Andrew's
Kicking off a very busy time for St Andrew's Church in December we are delighted to welcome Mary-Jess Leaverland to St Andrew's on Wednesday 7 December 6.30pm as part of her Snowflake Winter Tour.
So you may ask, who is Mary-Jess? She is the winner of the Chinese equivalent of the X-Factor, has toured with Russell Watson, performed with Tim Rice and could be considered to have the HRH seal of approval, having sung for royalty at Windsor Castle. Those amongst you who are Downton Abbey aficionados (of which I know there are many) will be familiar with Mary-Jess's dulcet tones, as she sang the official Downton Abbey theme tune for the released album. Now not all of you are Downton Abbey fans but for the football fans amongst you, you will have seen and heard Mary-Jess perform at the FA Cup final at Wembley Stadium. So she has the street credentials as they say!
As part of her tour, she was keen to undertake a number of charity performances, one of which is fortunately here at St Andrew's.
For this is a one off opportunity to see Mary-Jess perform at the heart of our community. Please contact me on 01392 832462 to secure your ticket for what will be a wonderful not to be missed event at St Andrew's. Tickets will NOT be sold on the door! Tickets are £10pp.

Phew!
So you can see a lot is happening in the run up to Christmas. It's a great time Christmas, do come and enjoy the events and Church Services (times of services elsewhere in Haldon Views).
Cherry Blossom expected in the Spring!
St Andrew's has been presented with a new cherry tree to replace the one that died by the Lych gate. This was donated and ceremonially planted by the WI in mid October to commemorate the Queen's 90th Birthday and 100 years of the WI. Many thanks to all members of the Kenn and Kennford WI for this gift which we hope will adorn the Churchyard for many years to come.
Keeping Up to Date
You can keep up to date week by week on St Andrew's events and services by looking at the posters in the post office and the various notice boards around the Parish. Keep checking St.Andrew's website and 'Like' St.Andrew's on Facebook to keep in touch on the go.
