CHURCHWARDEN'S JOTTINGS

Lent Lunches

I am delighted to report that once again our Lent Lunches are a great success.  I would like to thank on behalf of St Andrews and all those who have attended the Lent Lunches and those who have hosted the individual lunches, providing soups and puddings.  Hopefully by the time we have finished, we will have raised a magnificent sum this year's Lent charity, Water Aid.

Easter

Easter is the major festival in the Christian calendar.  It is a time when many people visit our church and attend services of remembrance and thanksgiving.  Times of the services are set out within this publication.  We do hope to see you over this period. With the advent of spring the church yard provides a wonderful backdrop to the church with an abundance of spring flowers.

Church Fete

The 17 May 2014 is drawing ever closer. Mervyn Hosking has organised an impressive range of things to see and do, including a 60 strong rock choir, brass band, children's activities, classic cars, side shows and craft stalls.  This year's fete is at Blacksmiths Meadow, Kenn and benefits from onsite parking.

The money raised from this event is to go towards our flush fund (toilets for St Andrews).  There will be more news of the progress that we are making to provide St Andrew's with toilet facilities and an upgrade in the heating boiler to ensure chilly services are a thing of the past in the months ahead.

Church Lights

The observant amongst you may have noticed that the path/security lights have been replaced with modern lights. Thanks go to Richard Hinton for undertaking these works for us.
